The Cogito Pop, a predecessor of the Cogito Classic, gave an interesting take on the concept of smartwatches. It places design first and as a result does away with an ungainly LCD display and instead using simple icons to alert users of incoming notifications. What it lacks in functionality, it makes for in simplicity and elegance. Its makers also called it a connected watch rather than a smartwatch.
Following in the foot
steps of the Cogito Pop is the new Cogito Classic. Unlike the Pop,
the Classic is a more premium offering and has a stainless case - the Pop
had a plastic case not unlike that of Swatch watches. It will also be available
in many different colors such as Clockwork Orange, Deep Purple, Green Velvet
and more; and it will also be offered in various straps, including a leather
strap, silicone strap and a stainless steel bracelet. Straps are of course
interchangeable and users can fit any typical 22mm strap to the Classic.
That said, it follows the
philosophy of the Pop, because even though it has an LCD display it only
shows simple icons indicating the type of notification the user has received.
Sure, this doesn't sound very helpful, but if you really think about, so what
if you could read an entire text or email on your watch? You would still need
your phone to be able to reply.
The Cogito Classic is
water resistant up to 100 meters. It is compatible with all Apple devices
running iOS 7 and iOS 8 and Android 4.3 enabled devices and above, including
Samsung Galaxy Series, LG G Series, Nexus 5 & 4, Moto G & X, Huawei P7,
Xiaomi Mi3, Hongmi 15 and HTC One.
