Facebook unveils its new
Page dedicated to tech news in our timeline. FB Techwire will serve as yet
another tool for journalist in exposing highest quality of work, discover
original content including breaking news in the tech community.
Fb Techwire is powered by Storyful which is the leader in social content discovery and verification newsrooms. It will combine the best contents of today in a way that makes the news accessible to its audience.
As Andy Mitchell, Facebook's director of news and global media partnerships, said earlier this year about Newswire, "It’s all about thinking of Facebook as a primary source of news content, formatted so journalists can easily scan content and pick out what’s newsworthy." Techwire will surely be treated the same way.
The thing is, Facebook
needs to convince tech journalist to post their articles/stories first in
Facebook instead of other social media sites like the Twitter. But, we all know
that Facebook remains solely the biggest driver in terms of traffic among
social media platforms. And tech already commands a massive audience. Facebook
might be onto something here.
